Know your measurements

When sewing clothing, even a simple quilted jacket, it is wise to know your basic measurements to get the best fit.  I always advise students to know their bust measurement and plan to make the size slightly larger (3-4") than their own measurement.  Hip size can be adjusted in the pattern, and shoulder width can also be adjusted.  I'll address these issues in the next clothing entry.
