If you find a pattern that fits just the way you want, you can use it over and over by changing the look a bit every time.  Make a collarless version or add a collar from another pattern.  Change the neckline to a V-neck or round square corners.  Add length or shorten the torso or sleeves.  Add or remove embellishments.  Change pockets or remove them.  Try a different fabric.  Have some fun!
