Tools for sewing with recycled neckties

You want to use the proper tools when sewing with neckties.  I've mentioned before using a fresh blade in your rotary cutter (or sharp scissors) and using pins meant for use with silk fabrics - thin, sharp, and untarnished.   You will want a sharp, fine needle in your machine and a fine, quality polyester thread (at least 50 wt.) to fit the needle.  Silk thread is also an option, but an expensive one.
