Weaving with ties

My sister is a weaver and gave me a small piece she wove with "retired" ties.  The ties were left whole, including the interfacing (if dirty, you could wash them first).  Eleven of them were woven in three passes each, with tips hanging out, into a piece about 16" square.  It makes a perfect seat cover for my sewing chair, but could also be a small wall hanging or table topper.
