Tie collage

I found a fun use for some of the scraps of ties I've been unable to throw away.  Commissioned to make a small wall hanging, I sketched a design and traced the parts onto the paper side of fusible web (reversed).  Each piece was roughly cut out and laid fusible side up on my ironing board.  I then cut skinny strips of tie scraps and silks to cover each piece, pressed, and cut to shape.  Pieces were then fused to a background and stitched in place before overstitching and appliqueing.
