Bias ribbon from neckties

One of the fun uses I've found for 3/8" raw-edge bias ribbon is to combine it with a couple of novelty yarns to make a custom fringe.  I have used cotton batik and silk fabrics for this, but there is no reason you couldn't use silk neckties.  Cut the ties into 3/8" wide strips the length of the tie - each tie should yield about 11 yards.  Sew the ends together to make a long strip.  Use more ties if needed and piece together randomly.  A yard makes about 6 inches of fringe when combined with medium thickness yarns.
