Prepare a tie for use

Depending on the use for and fabric content of a tie, preparation may vary.  I used a silk tie for a pocket and fused a light-weight interfacing to the back before cutting.  Because the fabric was so light, I also lined the pocket with a cotton to add more stability.  Pockets cut from a cotton necktie were stable enough to not require any further treatment.
