Fun uses for ties

Consider using a themed tie to make a patch pocket.  The wide end of most ties is sufficient for a shirt-size pocket.  Use a collection of ties to make a "strippy" quilt.  You can easily cut a 2 1/2" x 45" strip from a full-length necktie, so a collection of 20 ties can make a 25" x 30"  (or larger) quilt before borders. Add some silk ties to a Crazy Patch project.  Use the labels to cover damage, reinforce button placement, in a chain to cover a raw edge.
