Necktie bias
Neckties are perfect for cutting bias strips. Some possible uses: Cut 1/2" wide and use as raw-edge strips for applique (use zig-zag, decorative stitch, or double needle to stitch). Cut 5/8" wide and make 1/4" folded bias strips for applique (These can also be folded in half to make 1/8" bias). Cut wider (always adding 1/8" more than with cotton fabrics) for wider bias. Fill with cording to make piping embellishment.
