Weaving with ties

Now that I have a loom to play with, I've tried using a silk necktie (one of the thinner ones) as the weft in a weaving project.  First I prepared a dismantled tie by cutting it into as long a continuous strip as I could - about 10 yards of 1/2" - 3/4" strip.  I didn't try for a uniform width, but did round off corners.  This could make an interesting scarf, or fabric to work with in other projects.
