Choosing a jacket or shirt pattern

When your body's measurements match different standard sizes, it can be hard to know what size pattern to purchase.  For jackets or dresses, I recommend buying by your bust measurement, as it can be the hardest to adjust.  You may have to adjust shoulder width, waist and hip, but those are relatively easy changes.  Make up a torso test in muslin to find where you need to let out or take in.
