Making "fabric" with neckties

Some  of my favorite clothing pieces were made from "fabric" created from neckties.  I cut the ties into 1 1/2" wide strips, and even cut those down into 4-8" pieces for some projects.  Using a serger, I reassembled the pieces into strips long enough to cover the planned area (with 3-4" to spare).  These were then serged together to make pieces of fabric large enough to cut the needed pattern pieces.
