Another seam finish for quilted garments

If you have 5/8" seam allowances, you have another option for finishing raw edges of quilted garment pieces - a Hong Kong Finish.  Before assembling your garment, finsh all raw edges that will not otherwise be enclosed.  Cut pieces of bias 1 1/8" wide and piece as needed to finish seams.  Sew right sides together with a 1/4" seam to a right side raw edge, then turn to the wrong side and stitch in the ditch to catch the bias on the wrong side.  Trim excess fabric if necessary.
