More on jacket linings

I should also mention, after reading the last post on this topic, that any extra lining width also needs to be taken up at the hemline.  This can also be done with a short stitched tuck - just enough to allow the lining to be the same width as the jacket at the hemline - and about 3" long.  It is also helpful to tack the lining to the jacket in a couple of places to prevent it from slipping around.  I do this at the top and bottom of the armhole seam - at the shoulder and side seams.
