Create a lapel

If you don't like a high neckline on your jackets (think wearable art), you can create a simple lapel instead.  For a lined jacket, use a complimentary fabric for the center 6" or so of the front lining pieces.  You can then fold the top of the fronts back on themselves to make a lapel.  These may be tacked in place - use buttons or other decorative embellishments to dress them up if you wish.
