Neckties in a border

Neckties can make an interesting border on a quilt.  Using the narrow end of the tie, cut pieces about 2-3" wide and a bit longer than the width of your border.  Cut strips of muslin an inch or so longer and wider than your borders and piece the ties onto these using the stitch-and-flip method.  Trim the foundation-pieced borders to the correct size and add to your quilt top.
