Adding ease to lining

To add ease to a lining that is cut from the jacket pattern pieces, there are 2 basic things you can do.  First, add about 1/4" length to the pieces to ensure that the jacket won't "bag" because the lining is too short.  Second, you can add shoulder ease by adding 1" at the top of the back lining, then stitching it up in a short pleat at the top center back.
