Last time I suggested ideas for memory quilts.  If you have a family member who never disposed of an old tie, you might have the material for a memory garment.  After making 6 small wall quilts from my father's 40-odd ties, I made a vest for myself from some of the remainders.  That vest, along with the coordinating pants and shirt, won second place in competition at the Pacific International Quilt Festival last week.  (My sister will get the rest of the leftover pieces.)
