Occasionally someone will give me a bag of ties with an odd one or two, like a wool or leather or even a knit tie.  Wool ties as a collection would make an interesting and warm vest or addition to a wool quilt or other wool craft project.  You could turn the leather tie into a unique belt - just attach a buckle to one end.  The knit ties...I use them to tie bundles (like sleeping bags)....
