Preparing recycled ties
I recently washed a "batch" of ties that were purchased at a charity shop. These were washed in my machine with the generic equivalent of Quilt Soap - Orvis Paste, a color catcher sheet, a splash of Retayne, and liquid fabric softener on a perma-press cycle. I dried these, along with a length of batik rayon and several scarves, in my dryer on the delicate setting and had minimal twisting at the end.
