Finished seams
Recently I pulled out a 40's era suit that had been my father's in hopes of using it as inspiration for a garment. I discovered a beautifully made jacket that was only partially lined - exposed seams were finished with a Hong Kong binding. I've discussed this in previous posts (see December 12, 2011); it's really quite easy to do. This suit's raw edges were bound (very skinny, too) with a lining-weight fabric in this classic finish.
