"Unlined" patchwork jacket

If you want to make an unlined jacket, you can still do patchwork.  Choose a cotton or rayon batik as the foundation for your patchwork.  Cut foundations larger than the pattern to allow for shrinkage, then construct your patchwork on the wrong side of the foundation fabric, or secure your patchwork to the foundation with stitching in a color that blends.  Trim to size, finish raw edges, and construct your jacket.  Bind outer raw edges for an easy finish.
