Pressing necktie fabric

When you use recycled neckties in a project, be aware of the fiber content of the fabrics.  Polyester neckties MUST be pressed with a warm iron to avoid melting the fabric.  Rayon or wool ties can be pressed at a wool setting.  Silk and cotton ties can be pressed at a cotton setting and not be damaged.  I often use a spray starch alternative to help remove stubborn wrinkles.  You could also use a press cloth over a mix of fiber types.
