Fuse ties

Make your own reversible tie fabric by fusing two coordinating ties together, fusing only as much as you need for a small project.  You can then make a small coin purse, checkbook cover (if people still use those), or other small item.  I made a coin purse/card holder with 2-3 pockets, finishing the edges with a satin stitch and closing with Velcro.  Or you could bind raw edges...
