Here's an idea from a class participant: Take two coordinating ties that are clean and pressed.  Cut them at about 24" from the wide end (longer or shorter depending on your preference).  Trim away about 1/2" of interfacing from the cut ends.  Finish the raw edges and sew the ends together.  Drape over your neck as a scarf or lapel over a V-neck jacket.  Fasten them together with a decorative pin.
