More on tie "strips"

A few more thoughts on preparing ties to be used as strips for projects:

Some ties are too worn on the right side for use, but the wrong side looks like new.  Open the 2 seams that construct the tie, reverse the fabrics, and re-sew the tie inside out.  Cut off the tips for another purpose.

Even lightly stabilized ties will stretch a bit, so treat them carefully to avoid distortion.  Fuse the light-weight interfacing strips to the wrong side of the tie before trimming to size.

Ties are generally long enough to cut a 40" - 45" strip from each, so they can be used for any project using 2 1/2" strips
