Using leftover bits of ties

I often have leftover scraps of ties after finishing a project.  One of the things I've used them for is crazy patchwork for small garment embellishments. Crazy patch would also make a charming evening bag.  Longer pieces could be used for string piecing - sew-and-flip - to create "fabric" to use in another project.  Both of these techniques should be done on a foundation of batiste, muslin, or even lightweight fusible interfacing.
