Removing underlining from a tie

Occasionally you will find a tie that has a sewn-in underlining in addition to the lined ends.  If you want to use the tie as a whole piece, the underlining will need to be removed first.  I usually cut it off close to the ends first, then carefully trim the seam allowance of the underlining close to the seams and gently pull the underlining away.  It may be easier to trim if you press the seam flat first.
