Pressing during construction

Every step of a garment's construction requires pressing.  Most garment seams are pressed open, unless your pattern instructs otherwise.  Use a heat that is consistent with your most delicate fabric.  If more heat is necessary, use a press cloth to protect the fabric.  You may use steam in your iron, or dampen the press cloth and let it provide the steam as you press.  Also, make sure the sole plate of your iron is CLEAN!!
