Tie facts

Did you know? Fabric from the average tie is 3" - 3 1/2" wide at the narrow end and 8" - 10" wide at the widest point.  Typical ties are 54" - 56" long, with the usable length between points 38" - 42".  There are usually 1 or 2 seams near the middle of the tie, with a short space between the 2, which are at opposite diagonals.  Some ties are fully lined in addition to the interfacing that gives them their body.  If you find a good use for the interfacings, let me know!
