With 9 coordinated ties, you can make a small Sudoku quilt.  Cut 9 - 2 1/2" squares (or up to 3 1/2" if your ties are wide enough) from each tie and arrange in a Sudoku puzzle solution.  (Look in your newspaper or other source to find a puzzle solution to copy.)  This would make a great background for applique and could be bordered with an applique on silk dupioni for a beautiful wall hanging.
