Sewing smooth seams

Your garments will look their best when you sew with the correct thread, stitch length, and tension.  Test your stitches on scraps of your fabric first.  If the seam puckers, try these one at a time or in combination:  a shorter stitch, loosen the upper thread tension a bit, increase the presser foot pressure a bit, sew slower.
