Flowers from ties

I saw a cute little quilt with flowers made with the narrow ends of neckties.  Choose 5 or 6 still-assembled ties that are a close color match for each flower.  Cut the ends about 4" from the tip and remove the interfacing.  Arrange in a circle on a scrappy patchwork background.  Prepare a large yoyo, circle, hexagon or other shape to cover the center and applique in place over the cut ends.
