Using striped ties

You can use a wide striped tie to make a chevron design (V) in your project.  Use the narrower end to cut some of the pieces lengthwise.  Cut stripes the opposite direction by cutting ACROSS the wide end.  Match the stripes as you sew the two pieces together to create a chevron.  These would be very effective in quilt or garment.
