Don't forget ascots!

I've occasionally been given or found an ascot - one of those loosely tied neck pieces that isn't exactly a necktie.  There's plenty of fabric in one of those and it's on-grain!  If you don't want to mess with the seam allowances, you can simply cut off the sewn edges and have instant fabric (though you may have to remove a set of stitching in the middle to release to folds).
