Choosing batting for quilted clothing

When choosing a batt for quilted clothing, consider the drape of the batt.  You want to use a product that is thin and soft.  Some that I like are well-washed flannel, VERY thin polyester, thin cotton or other natural fiber, silk or silk blend, or even muslin.  Without mentioning brands, some batts that are wonderful for quilts are not appropriate for clothing.  If the batt makes a drapey quilt without washing, it should also make a lovely jacket.
