Using worn ties

If you have washed a tie that you really want to use and find that it has worn thin, but not through, in a critical spot, you can still salvage it.  Stabilize the tie with a fusible sheer-weight interfacing or underling (as the entire tie might be fragile), or fuse a small piece from the same tie or from one of a coordinating pattern over the worn spot.
